Although
not open to the public as a falconry centre, hand in
hand with Bob Dalton our resident falconer and with
a stunning array of Hawks, Falcons, Owls and Eagles,
we are able to offer both half and full day falconry
experiences to adults and children alike.
Bob has been a practising falconer
for almost forty years and is an internationally recognised
author and film maker on the sport
Falconry techniques have been
refined over centuries and passed down from many falconers.
A typical experience day would start with a brief introduction
to falconry learning about their different characteristics and
hunting habits followed by a chance to meet all the aviary and
flying birds. From there on in, the day is very much a hands
on experience and following some basic instruction, each guest
is given the opportunity to don a gauntlet and fly an Owl and
a Harris Hawk. Bob will then exercise one of the falcons to
the lure and work a Harris Hawk in a style that has changed
little in recent times. For full day experiences, following
lunch, you will venture further into the estate and fly a falcon
in its natural surroundings.
Displays and Corporate Groups
Hamptworth Falconry is able
to bring the birds to you and Bob will be delighted
to travel to your own event, whether a summer
fete, corporate occassion or private party,
Bob will offer a stunning display of flying
a variety of birds whilst more will be available
to make your acquaintance. Attending guests
will also be given the opportunity to fly the
birds themselves.
Talks
Bob has had many years experience
of delivering talks to a variety of groups and
organisations. He will happily attend your lunch
or dinner and give a fascinating introduction
to the sport.

Full day experience
10am to 4pm £95.00 (lunch included).
Spectators are welcome to attend
at £15.00 per person.
The experience is suitable
for both adults and children twelve and older.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The house was designed by the architect
Sir Guy Dawber,
possibly to the design of the original 1620s house and the gardens surrounding
the Lodge are
beautifully manicured even boasting an original English Archery
lawn.
