Hamptworth provides...
...a stunning location for a wedding ceremony and reception. Hidden away on the northern edge of the New Forest National Park, yet so easily accessible from London and more locally Southampton and Salisbury, the house exudes such a warmth and friendliness that is hard to find these days in a house of this size.
The main staircase
Three rooms within the house are licensed for civil ceremonies, the largest of which is able to accommodate 120 guests. Externally, the summer house in the stunning gardens is also licensed for civil ceremonies. A marriage ceremony may take place within this three sided structure with attending guests seated along the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens.
100 guests can be accommodated for a wedding breakfast in The Great Hall of the house. With its vaulted beamed ceiling and magnificent organ – the twin of that in Salisbury Cathedral – you couldn’t ask for a more extraordinary venue. Smaller parties might appreciate the cosy atmosphere of the dining room and larger parties could consider a marquee in the gardens of the house.
Hamptworth works with an approved list of caterers, all slightly different in style and cost but all equally committed to ensuring your day is a huge success.
Accommodation is available at Langley Wood, the Dower House on the estate. Six beautifully appointed and very luxurious bedrooms are offered and this Edwardian house stands in important woodland just to the north of the main house. A host of further accommodation can be recommended locally.
